physical collection

29.03.22 / Today, for lack of a better alternative, I went to a local bookstore and looked through the “pop culture” section. It was funny; when I got there at first, a high school girl was already bent down and sifting through them all, rearranging the books so she could see the ones in the back. I felt a little embarrassed that I was a grown adult wanting to look at a section a high schooler was currently raiding. I keep telling myself most comics are given an 18+ rating. Anyway, I wandered away and when I came back I finally picked up a copy of a favourite Batman series of mine but in black and white. The cover really sold me on this one.

Initial Collection / Its not much of a collection, but I haven’t really been buying comics at all like I used to. In fact, there was a time I was ashamed I had a collection and was tempted to sell these off. I have grown up since then and now unabashedly love superhero comic books.

I have accumulated these from maybe 2014 and onwards, via a local comic store that has since closed down. My dad and I would visit there around Christmas and my birthday. I really miss the place; it wasn’t at all flashy like some comic stores are. Just a silent cashier who didn’t take notice to you, thousands of comics, and the hum of an air conditioner.
